PARTNERSHIP

Besides Department of Physiology, there is an option for master’s and PhD students to study in Department of Gene and Cell Therapy (English) and Medical Biotechnology – Institute of Health Sciences at Akdeniz University under the supervision of Prof. Mehmet Bülbül.

 

It is not necessary for applicants to be a Turkish citizen to apply for the programs. Foreign students are eligible to apply for the post-graduate programs of Institute of Health Sciences.

Our researches are mostly conducted in the laboratories at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine Department of Physiology:

  • Stereotaxic Surgery Laboratory
  • Molecular Physiology Laboratory
  • In-vitro Quantification Laboratory
  • Electrophysiology Laboratory
  • Behavioural Laboratory
  • Motility Laboratory

 

 

Research Techniques

The methods include but not limited to:

    • In-vivo surgery
    • Brain microdialysis
    • Brain microenjection
    • Optogenetic manipulation
    • In-vivo electrophysiology
    • Gastrointestinal motility
    • In-vitro organ bath
    • Neuronal cell culture
    • Immunohistochemistry
    • In-vivo physiological measurements(EKG,EMG,Neuronal activity)
    • Molecular measurement techniques(Western blot, RT-PCR, Flow cytometry)

 

 

PhD applicants preferebly (but not necessarily) need to be experienced in neuroscience related fields and histological techniques.

Postdoc applicants preferebly need to be experienced in life sciences research and experimental models in laboratory animal.

Our lab has TUBITAK and BAP research projects with scholarship opportunities.

We have ongoing collaborative works and relationships with other laboratories abroad providing opportunities for our students to visit and/or work.
