We investigate the neural aspects of autonomic functions especially brain-gut signaling.
Our research focuses on discovering the alterations that occur in gastrointestinal motor functions in response to neuropeptides, drugs, stress, nutritional status, and different diets.

The main goal of our research team is linking the bench to bed by discovering novel therapeutic approaches for the treatment and reversal of pathological changes in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease and functional disorders including irritable bowel syndrome and functional dyspepsia.
